By Danjuma Williams (Gombe State Correspondent)

Authorities of the Nigerian Army University, Biu, in Bornu State, North East Nigeria, says the institution has continued to maintain zero tolerance on all forms of anti-social behavior, since the inception of academic activities in the school, four years ago.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Kyari Mohammed, reiterated the warning to 333 newly admitted students during the University's fourth matriculation ceremony held in Biu, Borno State.

He said discipline has always remained key in it's training of students and as such, urged them to abhor all forms of antisocial conducts such as violence, especially gender based violence, drug and substance abuse, cultism, examination malpractices or any other forms of misconduct.

He assured them that the school authority is ready to protect the innocent and punish perpetrators of crime.

According to him, "we have zero tolerance to bad behavior. Should you encounter any form of harassment from your lecturers or fellow students, there are clearly laid down avenues for seeking redress, please utilize them".

He also explained to the students that the matriculation oath taking makes them bonafide students of the young and fast fountain of learning.

"This is an initiation into membership of the academic community of the Nigerian Army University with all the rights and responsibilities that it entails, therefore, we take the matriculation as a serious activity. As matriculating students, you should too," he stressed.

This year, the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB), admitted only 392 students out of which 333 have been registered and are now being administered the matriculation oath. NNL.
