The Secretary to the Government of Taraba State, Anthony Jellason, has said the peace being enjoyed in the state courtesy of Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku, is the reason for the success of various programmes of Non-Governmental Organizations.

The SSG stated this at the weekend in Wukari while speaking at two days capacity building training programme organized by the Taraba Advocacy and Rehabilitation Foundation, Tari Foundation aimed at training and empowering Four Hundreds People selected from Wukari and Ibi on Village Savings and loan association.

Represented by Koku Agbu Koku of the SSG office, the SSG described Tari Foundation as worthy implementing partner of the Programme.

He said the Programme is taking place in three states such as Taraba, Nassarawa and Benue, adding that it was designed to cushion the effects of crisis and COVID-19 pandemic on petty traders.

While commending the UNDP and Japanese government for sponsoring the programme, the SSG urged the participants to take advantage of the program so as to better their businesses.

In his address at the Programme, Founder of the NGO Mr Samuel Tari, said the Project the foundation was handling is aimed at empowering petty traders so as to grow their businesses and add value to their lives.

He explained that at the end of the training the participants will be empowered with various sums to uplifts their trades. According to him the Foundation complements government's efforts in areas of sensitization on HIV Aids and improving the economy based of the people.

The executive Director of the Tari Foundation, Lucy Samuel in her address, said the project is supported by UNDP and Japanese government, and advised the participants to be prudent in whatever that is given to them.

She urged the participants to used the lessons learned at the Programme to foster their businesses.

In their good will messages, the vice Chairmen of Wukari and Ibi local government Councils who represented their principals, commended the Tari Foundation, UNDP, Japanese government and Taraba State government for choosing Wukari and Ibi as part of the implementing areas of the Programme in the State.

They advised the participants to maximize the opportunity availed by the Programme to enable them grow their businesses and improve their economic based.

Participants at the Programme were full of appreciation to the Tari Foundation for coming to their rescue. NNL.
