THE TARABA STATE GOVERNOR, ARC. DARIUS DICKSON ISHAKU, HAS LOST THE TARABA SOUTH SENATORIAL ELECTION TO THE ALL PROGRESSIVES CONGRESS (APC) opponent, David Jimkuta.
THE APC CANDIDATE POLLED 85,415 votes TO DEFEAT THE GOVERNOR who polled 45,708 votes, WHILE THE candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), MICHAEL MAGAJI SCORED 4,133 votes.
THE RESULT WAS DECLARED BY PROFESSOR SOLOMON ADEYEYE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE, FEDERAL UNIVERSITY WUKARI.
APC's DAVID JIMKUTA HAD LOST TO DANJUMA SHIDDI AT THE APC PRIMARY ELECTION FOR SOUTHERN SENATORIAL DISTRICT BUT RECLAIMED HIS POSITION AT THE APPEAL COURT WHICH DECLARED HIM THE WINNER OF THE POLLS.

JIMKUTA however stated that HE WILL WORK TOWARDS THE SUCCESS AND PEACEFUL DISPOSITION OF THE ZONE TO ENSURE THAT IT IS THE ENVY OF OTHERS.

Meanwhile, the incumbent Senator representing Taraba North Senatorial District, Senator Shaibu Isa Lau, has been declared winner in the just concluded Northern Zone Senatorial seat Comprising of Jalingo, Lau, Karim- Lamido, Zing, Yorro and Ardo-kola Federal Constituencies.
Lau is also the present Senate Deputy Minority Leader in the National Assembly.
Declaring the result, the returning officer for Taraba Northern Senatorial District election, Professor Chibiya Paul Chingu, a Deputy Vice Chancellor Central Admin, Federal University Wukari, said the candidate is returned elected with a total number of seventy four thousand six hundred and forty five votes (74, 645) to defeat his opponent, Sani Abubakar Danladi, who scored sixty one thousand eight hundred and seventy eight (61,878) votes.
