The Emir of Lafia, in Nasarawa State, Hon Sidi Bage, has endorsed the 2023 Presidential aspiration of former Senate president, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, describing him as having the competence and experience to address Nigeria's problems.
The Emir who is a retired Supreme Court Justice gave the recommendation of Senator Anyim when he spoke in Abuja on Thursday December 16, 2021, at the Awards/Honours event organized by The Nigerian News to mark the 5th anniversary of the online media.
The Royal father however said that after listening to the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation's (SGF) speech at an award ceremony in Lagos recently, he was left with no doubt that Anyim understands the problems of Nigeria and that he is capable of fixing them.
Bage described Senator Anyim as a modern day Nostradamus who saw and understood what Nigeria should be in future. "He (Anyim) knows what Nigeria should be today and tomorrow. Let all Nigerians read that speech. He made me believe that we still have leaders into whose hands we can entrust Nigeria."
Bage, who was one of the awardees at the event, commended the organisers of the award for recognizing the leadership qualities in the PDP presidential aspirant.
In his goodwill message, Anyim lamented that Nigeria is operating like a nation without dreams. He urged those in leadership positions or those jostling for leadership of the country to do everything possible to regenerate the Nigerian dream as well as the consciousness to drive the dream.
While thanking the award organisers for the honour done him, Anyim assured Nigerians that he would not disappoint them if given the opportunity to serve the country as president in 2023.
In his speech, the publisher of the Nigerian News online, Chief Philip Agbese, said the awardees were selected based on track records of performance and service. NNL.
