The lnter Party Advisory Council (IPAC) said it received with shock the news of the demise of Prof. Habu Galadima, the Director-General, National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), on Sunday 20th December 2020.

IPAC in a statement on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Major Agbo, said it was "devastated and heartbroken on the sudden departure of a great patriot, eminent intellectual, esteemed scholar, prominent bridge builder and political pundit who devoted his life in service to the fatherland".

IPAC noted that the demised NIPSS boss "was an embodiment of intellectualism, patriotism, professionalism, integrity and dignity which he deployed in deepening, strengthening and consolidating the nation's emerging democracy, particularly in capacity building of leaders of registered political parties over the years.

"He was an ardent believer in multiparty democracy and pioneer Chief Operating Officer of the Political Parties Leadership and Policy Development Centre of NIPSS.

"IPAC recalls with pride, his commitment in enthroning genuine democracy in the country and in facilitating several capacity development programmes including the recent Institute's roundtable on "Political Parties, Party Ideologies and National Interest" in Abuja on 15th December 2020, and the 2020 Annual Summit of Political Parties and Stakeholders with the theme, "Two Decades of Party Politics and Democracy in Nigeria: Issues and Prospects" on 16th - 17th December 2020 also in Abuja.

"His death after these programmes is a big blow to political parties and the nation he served with all his might. Indeed, IPAC has lost a dependable ally in the quest for sustainable democracy in Nigeria.

"Council shares the grief of his departure and pray to God Almighty to console, comfort and strengthen members of his family, NIPSS and all those affected by his transition to glory.

"We take solace in the fact that he lived a life worthy of emulation, contributed immensely to scholarship and knowledge and will be remembered for his passion for capacity development of leaders of political parties. May his patriotic soul rest in peace". NNL.
