Nasarawa State House of Assembly has said that the proposed N8.3 billion 2022 amended bill sent to the House by the Governor, Engr Abdullahi Sule, would accelerate growth and development across the State,

Consequently, the House said it is ready to give the budget accelerated passage to enable the government execute projects and programmes that would transform the state and impact on the citizens.

Speaker of the House, Ibrahim Balarabe Abdullahi, stated this after the House deliberated and adopted the Report of the House Standing Committee on Finance and Appropriation on A Bill for a Law to Authorize the Issuance of the Consolidated Revenue Fund of the State 2022 Amended Appropriation of N110, 849, 945, 879.49 only for the Services of Nasarawa State Government to Complement for the Period Commencing from 1st January, 2022 and Ending 31st, December, 2022.

According to the Speaker, the 2022 amended appropriation was necessary to adjust and re-align some items in the budget that have not been used or utilized owing to the inflow and outflow of incomes and expenditures.

"The House after due study examination, the sum of N8,367, 625,997.5k only would be approve as total adjustment within the 2022 budget. I therefore slates Tuesday, November 8, 2022 for the third reading of the bill," he said.

The Speaker while appreciating the House Committee and other members for given adequate attention the the governor's request, added that the State House if Assembly would contue to legislate on areas that will bring development to the state and enhance the wellbeing of the citizenry.

Earlier, Chairman of the Committee, Aliyu Dogara Mohammed, while presenting the report, appreciated the Speaker for his support to ensure that the adjusted budget report met the stipulated time frame.

"The proposed adjusted budget for the year 2022 was transmitted to this House by His Excellency, Gov. Abdullahi Sule and was committed to the committee to work on and report back to the House, this is the report we are submitting today.

"The sum of N8, 367, 625,997.5k only is the total adjusted sum within the 2022 budget as shown below: Recurrent Expenditure- NN7, 649, 918, 614.95, Personnel cost- N717, 707,382.12 total N8, 367,625,996.24

"Capital Expenditure- N8, 367,625,996.24 were deducted and transfer to the recurrent expenditure. Base on the above analysis, the total size of the recurrent expenditure after adjustment stand at N80, 288, 638, 455.50 Whereas the total size of the capital expenditure is N30, 561, 316, 423.87.

"Accordingly, the total budget size for 2022 before and after adjustment remains as passed by this Honourable House,"

The Majority Leader of the House, Tanko Tunga, moved a motion for the adoption of the report and was seconded by Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali, the Deputy Chief Whip of the House. NNL.
