By David Odama (In Lafia, Nasarawa State)
Nasarawa State Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Mr Francis Orogu, said on Saturday that despite the perceived disagreement in the party, the PDP would deliver the state to its Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 general elections.
Orogu spoke while fielding questions from journalists in Lafia, Nasarawa State capital on the controversy surrounding the outcome of the presidential primary. He explained that the loyalty of the members of the party is with the constitution of the party, as such, they are working seriously to ensure victory for Atiku and other PDP candidates in 2023 general elections.
Orogu who debunked the speculations that the state chapter of the party had pulled out from the campaign council of Atiku, however, stated that no member of PDP in Nasarawa State has pulled out from the campaign council because the party has only one Presidential candidate as such, the party must work to deliver him.
“Everybody must make sacrifice of whatever interest to join hands to ensure the victory of our candidate. No sacrifice is too much to help salvage Nigeria and Nigerians from the bad governance of the current government of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” the PDP Chairman added.
On the chances of PDP to reclaim power in Nasarawa State, Orogu said the chances of the PDP is very bright because of unity in the party and the non performance by APC government. He added that in more than three years, the APC government is yet to execute projects across the state.
According to orogu, the people are now wise and cannot be deceive again in 2023. I, therefore, urge Nigerians to keep their voters cards to vote out non performing governments and vote-in the PDP for restoration of the lost glory and transformation of the country. NNL.
