In their quest to capture Taraba state for PDP again in the 2023 general election, the state exco of the party has inaugurated an assessment committee in the three Senatorial zones to ensure that the party is properly strategized before the 2023 election.
The Chairmen of the three zones are Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhassan for Northern zone, Bar. Sam Stokwa for the Southern zone while Hon. Simon Inusa Dogari is to chair the Central zone committee with each of the zone having 9 members.
While inaugurating the committee, the state PDP Chairman Conel. Dantala Agbu Kefas, charged them to put aside all kinds of sentiments and work for the interest of the party and for the entire state. He called on them to adhere strictly to their terms of reference which includes assessing the state of the party, wooing back aggrieved members, providing enabling ground for every member among other's
His words: " In one of our meetings where we came together and brainstormed on the way forward, a decision was reached to put in place a high power assessment committee, hence the need to select vibrant politicians like you who knows the nitty-gritty of Taraba politics. I, therefore, charged you, to, as a matter of urgency, commence work in earnest to deliver your mandate even before 2023.
Responding on behalf of the committee, Sen. Aisha Jummai Alhassan thanked the party for finding them worthy of such heavy tasks and promised to justify the confidence reposed in them. She added that they will bring to bear their political knowledge and experience as they carry out their duty.
The committee has two weeks within which to submit its report. The inauguration ceremony was attended by various stakeholders of the party and top political appointees. NNL.
