The 2023 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress(AAC), Comrade Omoyele Sowore, has explained why his party merged with the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP).
Sowore who is Publisher of the US based Sahara Reporters online news, said the ultimate goal of that alliance was liberate humanity.
"The ulitmate goal is liberation of humanity in Africa and beyond the continent. We invite people in Latin America and Asia and other marginalised in some parts of the world to join us", Sowore said.
The African Action Congress (AAC) announced at a news conference in Abuja last Wednesday, that the merger between it and a fraction of the People's Redemption Party(PRP) was to present the AAC's presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, as the joint presidential flagbearer of the allied parties for 2023 general election.
Speaking during the press conference, Sowore stated that the alliance between both parties was a great step at rescuing Nigerian from the grip of the APC and PDP. He pointed out that the PRP was established in 1978 and is currently the oldest revolutionary party participating in the 2023 general election.
He added that AAC was established in 2018 and is currently the youngest political party, noting that the alliance is the purest form of revolutionary steps to take back the country.
Sowore however noted that women were not sufficiently represented in the party because the party was hijacked by what he referred to as "reactionary elements", which, according to him, did not allow them time to choose a woman vice president or even presidential candidate. He noted that as a human right party, it will ensure that women are adequately represented in the party.
Sowore also said contrary to believe of some people, his popularity has not waned, rather, his highly publicised detention has given democracy a new direction.
The fractional chairman, of the PRP, Abdulmajeed Daudu, while speaking on the alliance, noted that it was a move by the two socialist parties to rescue Nigeria by changing the narrative where only a few individuals control the common wealth of the country.
Daudu added that the struggle to take back Nigeria is not religious but a struggle between classes, the" haves" and the" have nots". He stressed that the "criminal organisation" must be defeated.
According to him, the activities of the elites has subjected youths to unemployment. He called on Nigerian students and women organisation to defeat the backward elites.
Speaking on the presidential candidate of PRP, Kola Abiola, Daudu explained that he has been impeached due to anti-party activities that goes against people- oriented ideologies of the party. He disclosed that they were in court to seek redress. NNL.
