Suleiman Mahmud, the Special Adviser on Youths and Students Matters to Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, has said none of the over 1800 All Progressive Congress (APC) Support groups in Sokoto is contemplating defecting to the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Mahmud who spoke while addressing newsmen at the State NUJ center, wondered why any sensible electorate in Sokoto will be thinking of joining the PDP which he described as a 'failed party'.
While noting that the APC in Sokoto state under the leadership of Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko still remained the reliable and formidable party with structures and strategies towards meeting the yearnings of the people, Mahmud added that they are not perturbed by the antics of failed politicians.
"We are aware of the heinous plans by some persons masquerading as the leadership of the Coalition of APC Supporters Group to make a formal declaration and support for the PDP. We wish to state categorically that those behind the move are persons being sponsored by the unpopular and failed PDP administration in the State".
Mahmud further cleared the air that those wishing to make such defection statement are not members of the APC, hence their plot has failed even before being hatched.
"Those behind the plan were agents of their pay masters who worked for them during the APC chairmanship tussle in the state". NNL.
