The Nasarawa State Chapter of Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama'atu, Nasirl Islam (JNI) in the State, on Thursday, condemned the attack on innocent travelers in Jos as a reprisal.

The condemnation was contained in a press statement jointly signed by Bishop Joseph Masin, CAN Chairman, and Imam Mohammed Ali, Secretary-General JNI, during a press briefing in Lafia, the state capital.

Imam, Mohammed Ali, who read the text of the statement on behalf of the two religions' body said both Christianity and Islam preach peace, and both will continue to live peacefully with one another in the State.

According to them," We condemned the incidence of the killings of innocent travelers that took place in Jos in its entirety.

"The two religions body appreciates Government's proactive response towards the immediate evacuation of Nasarawa State students who were stranded in Jos as a result of the crisis," they said.

They also encourage citizens to go about their lawful business without fear of molestation or harassment in any form. NNL.
