The second edition of NIPR Reputation Roundtable, a specialized capacity building programme for public relations professionals, organized by the FCT Abuja Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) successfully ended on Wednesday, February 25, 2026.
The two-day event which held at Transcorp Hilton Hotel Abuja from Tuesday, February 24th—Wednesday 25th and themed, "The New Architecture of Corporate Integrity: Navigating Power, Perception and Purpose", assembled the best in class of resource persons.
The event recorded huge professional milestone among participants largely drawn from reputation managers and image builders from across public and private sectors.
Addressing newsmen at the close of the programme on Wednesday, 25th February, 2026, the Chairman of NIPR-FCT, Mr. Stanley Ogadigo, emphasised the need for public relations professionals to upgrade their digital skills especially with the growing popularity of artificial intelligence.
Ogadigo said "There has been fears whether AI will take some jobs. That is why Reputation Roundtable was designed as a specialized training to arm our members with the necessary skills and prepare them to add value to their organisations, because value is at the heart of public relations", Ogadigo a Fellow of the Institute stated.
He expressed satisfaction with the feedback received from participants at the programme, noting that knowledge derived prepares them to be at their very best in the discharge of their functions.
Also speaking, the immediate past President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Dr. Chris Isiguzo, said with Nigeria heading to an election year, the training programme became crucial for image makers to distinguish between real contents and those produced using artificial intelligence.
Dr. Isiguzo, the President of Congress of African Journalists (CAJ) described the gathering as timely as it provided participants with opportunity to be empowered to serve their clients, principals and organisations better, especially in an era where digital technology is changing ways contents are produced.
Earlier, the Ag. President of the Institute, Prof. Emmanuel Dandaura identified corporate integrity as a critical pillar to boost the country's economic architecture and restoring public trust in institutions.
According to him, reputation must move beyond rhetoric to become a structural component of governance, economic resilience and national development. NNL.
