The Abia State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has commended the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Abia State Structures for Signage and Advertising Agency (ABSSAA), Hon. Victoria Dibumma Onwubiko, for what it described as the high level of professionalism demonstrated in the discharge of her duties.
Speaking during a courtesy visit to the Agency on Thursday, February 26, 2026, the Chairman of NIPR Abia State Chapter, Onyinye Ralph-Nwachukwu, a Fellow of NIPR described ABSSAA’s mandate as strategic and impactful, particularly in regulating signage and advertising activities, promoting responsible advertising practices, and enhancing the visual and economic landscape of Abia State, the Chapter PRO, Promise Uzoma Okoro said in a release.
The Chapter Chairman according to the release noted that as the statutory regulatory body for public relations practice in Nigeria, NIPR remains committed to upholding ethical standards, capacity development, and strategic communication across sectors, adding that ABSAA’s functions significantly intersect with public communication, brand visibility, stakeholder engagement, and reputation management.
"The Chairman stated that the visit was aimed at formally identifying with the Agency’s leadership, strengthening institutional collaboration, and exploring partnership opportunities in advocacy, public enlightenment campaigns, professional development, and compliance with communication best practices.
"She further emphasized that the newly inaugurated Executive Council of the Chapter is focused on repositioning the Institute for greater visibility, inclusiveness, and professional impact within the state", the release added.
In her response, the MD/CEO of ABSSAA, Hon. Victoria Onwubiko, congratulated the Chairman on her election, describing it as historic as the first female to lead the Abia State Chapter of NIPR.
The MD reiterated the Agency’s mandate in promoting ethical advertising and advocacy initiatives, noting that more strategic reforms are underway, the statement added. NNL.
