Nigeria's President, Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, returned to Abuja from the United Kingdom, after observing a two weeks short rest and undertaking routine medical checks with his British doctors.
President Buhari's official aircraft, a Boeing model luxury jet bearing Nigerian Airforce 1, touched down at exactly 4:50 pm, at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja, with the President and some of his close aides alighting from the Presidential big bird.
Our correspondent who was at the airport when the President arrived, reports that some top officials of the government were on hand to welcome him. The official welcome party included the President's Chief of Staff,, Prof. Ibrahim Gambari, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammed Bello, and the National Security Adviser, (NSA), Major General Babagana Monguno.(retd), and the President's media team led by Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
However, among the Security Chiefs who were equally at the airport to receive Buhari were the acting Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), Yusuf Bichi, and the Head of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai
There was a short ceremonial event at the airport to welcome the President who was looking a bit refreshed and relatively fit, before his departure to the Presidential Villa aboard a presidential helicopter.
For sixteen days, since Tuesday, March 30, 2021, President Buhari has been away from Nigeria to the United Kingdom to get a long-overdue health check from his London physicians and also to enjoy a short rest. NNL.
