As Christians across Anambra State commence the Easter celebration with the observance of Good Friday, the Anambra State Police Command has activated the final phase of its security architecture, strategically dominating key areas to enhance safety across the State.
The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Ikioye Orutugu, noted that Good Friday symbolises sacrifice, love, and reflection, and called on Ndi Anambra to imbibe these virtues in promoting peace, unity, and lawful conduct throughout the festive period.
In line with the Joint Security Operational Order already in force, the Command, in collaboration with other security agencies, has intensified deployments to critical locations, including churches, major highways, motor parks, recreational centres, and other public spaces to forestall any security breaches.
The Police have also strengthened confidence-building patrols, intelligence-led operations, and stop-and-search duties aimed at deterring criminal elements and ensuring swift response to any emerging threats.
CP Orutugu reassured residents and visitors of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and property. He urged members of the public to remain vigilant, law-abiding, and to cooperate with security agencies by providing timely and useful information on any suspicious movements or activities.
Spokesman, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the Command wishes Ndi Anambra a solemn Good Friday and a peaceful, safe, and hitch-free Easter celebration, while reaffirming its resolve to sustain security and public safety across the State. NNL.
