The newly inaugurated Governor of Taraba state, Col. Agbu Kefas while taking the oath of office as the 4th elected governors of Taraba on Monday, asked Tarabans to put aside their differences and move the state forward.
Kefas disclosed this during his swearing-in ceremony at the Jolly Nyame stadium in Jalingo.
In his words, he said, “You the people of Taraba state have given me the mandate to deliver, and I stand here today to state my commitment to you. I ask us all to put our differences aside, and come together as one to move Taraba forward.
“After all, the task of governance can only be successful when it's inclusive by engaging people from all works of life. We'll ensure that we remain accountable, and responsive to all. Today, my administration is open to working with all of you, and I'll always welcome constructive criticisms.
“One of my key challenges is to address the challenges of insecurity, unemployment, gender marginalization and many more”, he said.
He took oath of office alone beside his deputy governor Alhaji Abdullahi Aminu Alkali, by the Ag. Chief Judge of Taraba State, Justice Joel F. Agya, in a colorful ceremony which was attended by traditional chiefs, stakeholders and foreign dignitaries.
Recall that Kefas was declared winner of the 2023 governorship election having polled 302,614 votes, while his closest rival, Prof. Sani Yahaya of the NNPP, polled 202,277 votes. NNL.
