The Enugu State Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, on Monday, March 30, 2026, led officers and men of the Command in executing activities outlined for Day One of the National Police Day 2026 celebration.

The activities carried out include:

a. Sanitation and clean-up exercise at Old Park/Holy Ghost, the commercial nerve centre of Enugu, the capital city of Enugu State.

b. Free medical outreach, featuring health talks, medical counselling, blood pressure (BP) checks, electrocardiogram (ECG) tests, blood sugar testing, Hepatitis B Virus (HBV) testing, Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) testing, eye examinations, retroviral screening (RVS), and free drug administration.

c. Town hall meetings held simultaneously across the five (5) Area Commands of the State Command on the theme: “Community Partnership: Building Trust for Effective Policing.” The Commissioner of Police attended, addressed, and engaged stakeholders at the session organised by the Enugu Area Command, held at Castle Majestic Hotel, Ogui, Enugu.

The activities, according to the State Command's Spokesman, SP Dan Ndukwe, will continue on Tuesday, 31st March 2026, with a walkathon (walking exercise) across major streets in Enugu metropolis.

The Commissioner of Police appreciates the good people of Enugu State for turning out en masse to participate in the events across different locations in the State. He urges them to sustain their support and continue partnering with the Police to enhance effective policing and build mutual trust. NNL.
