The launch of Kaura Force in Bauchi State on Monday has added a new dimension to the evolving political landscape, particularly within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The movement, unveiled at a press conference, declared strong support for Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, describing him as a “national figure” with growing influence beyond Bauchi State.
The emergence of the group comes at a time when the PDP continues to grapple with internal leadership disputes, raising concerns about the stability of Nigeria’s main opposition platform.
Kaura Force said it would mobilise grassroots support and defend credible leadership, while also committing resources toward any future political ambition of the governor.
Political observers say the development may signal early alignments ahead of future elections, especially as discussions around potential realignments within the PDP intensify.
The group, however, maintained that any decision regarding party affiliation rests solely with the governor, stressing that such a move would be guided by national interest. NNL.
