The new multi billion naira Sokoto State University Teaching Hospital, Kasarawa, would accommodate 576 patients when completed.
This Project lead Consultant, Arch. Umar Kabir Yabo of Dotline Architectural Consulting Nigeria Limited, disclosed this to journalists while on an inspection tour of the project on Monday.
According to him, the project involved six general wards with 96 patients capacity each, laboratories, halls, water system and road networks.
He noted that 1,000 Labourers drawn from across the state worked at the site daily.
''99 percent of workers were from Sokoto state, Labourers collects N2,000 while Masons collects N4,000 pay daily.
"Materials are sourced from Sokoto and sometimes from Zamfara and Kebbi states," he explained.
The contract was awarded in July this year, with the completion period of 30 months.
Speaking, the Chairman of NUJ, Isa Shuni, expressed satisfaction over the progress so far achieved and described the contracts as a robust compliments to the present economic activities. NNL.
