The Taraba state People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Col. Kefas Agbu, has pledged to eradicate hunger amongst Taraba citizens and transform the education sector of the state.
In a recent mega he held in Wukari local government area of the state, he expressed that making Taraba citizens and households afford three square meal is a top priority for him if voted to power. He said it is a most effective way in abating insecurity and ensuring that quality education was key to training young citizens that would effectively manage the economy and attract development to the state.
At the event, he presented his running mate, Hon. Abdullahi Aminu Alkali, to the PDP southern zone, stating that developed nations were transformed by people with quality educational background that believe in real development. He said he would ensure that both primary and secondary schools in the state are equipped with modern learning and teaching equipment as well as good professional training for teachers to actualize their goal.
Col. Agbu asserts that "I see it as a mandate to end hunger in all households in the state. I also have a passion for quality education in Taraba. If elected governor, l will build development base for young talents who would think positively about the state".
“With quality education for our children, developmental ideas would be impacted in a manner that non would grow to think of indulging in criminality. I believe in peace and development. The peace among citizens is what I believe would attract development. I want to assure the people of Taraba state that, as an ex-military intelligence officer, the growing insurgency in the state would no longer be a challenge, if I am elected governor", he said.
Earlier, HRM. Aku UKa of Wukari, Manu Ishaku Ada, told the gubernatorial candidate in his palace that the people of the local government were convinced by his profile as an ex-military officer who would be able to handle the rising insecurity problem and bring development to the state.
The guber candidate also noted that his idea, if elected as governor, will help in mitigating the growing insurgency among the young citizens of the state, who, according to him, were into criminal activities due to hunger and lack of adequate knowledge for development. NNL.
