Amazed by how Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko's political turbulence has drowned the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sokoto State, President Muhammadu has congratulated former governor Wamakko for the feat.
Buhari who described Wamakko as the brain that led to the defeat of incumbent PDP in Sokoto, added that, the Seat of the Caliphate State has made their choice clearer.
Expressing his appreciation to Wamakko in a telephone call, President Buhari was quoted as saying, "the election that gave victory to Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto of APC was a huge success. And that was what the people of Sokoto State truly want."
A statement signed by Senator Wamakko's Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Bashar Abubakar, further quoted President Muhammdu Buhari as saying, the just-concluded Governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections was historic.
Buhari however advised to the newly-elected officials to ensure the fulfilment of their campaign promises to the electorate.
Continuing, Buhari further described the election of Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto of APC as governor as the will of Allah, urging him to put in his very best to provide developmental projects for the progress of the state and Nigeria as a whole.
Responding to the call, the elated former Governor of Sokoto State lauded Buhari for the concern. Senator Wamakko further extolled Buhari for always having the people of Sokoto State at heart and assured him of a good counselling to the Governor-elect, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto for him to roundly succeed.
Wamakko described Buhari as a true democrat who stood firmly and patriotically for the sustenance of Nigeria's democracy. He appreciated Buhari for his committed leadership and invaluable advice towards the development of Nigeria as the Nigerian President. NNL.
