Governor Wike had addressed a televised media chat earlier on Friday in Government House, Port Harcourt. The governor, during the media chat had made several revelations.
One of such was that the presidential standard bearer of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, had offered him a Senatorial ticket during their meeting in London last month.
Governor Wike said Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu offered him a senatorial ticket when they met in London, United Kingdom. He made this disclosure during his live televised media chat in PortHarcourt on Friday morning.
Wike arranged the chat in order to address the crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP). He said that he contested the presidential primaries because he wanted to be the candidate, so he didn’t buy a senatorial form.
“I didn’t contest so I can become a vice presidential candidate. I am not like others who were not serious and bought senatorial form alongside presidential form, and that’s why when Tinubu offered me senate slot, I didn’t go for it", he stated. (source: voice of naija.ng). NNL.
