To ensure the successes of the numerous programmes outlined for the Monday inauguration of APC administration in Sokoto State, the party's transition committee has organized special prayers for Allah's guidance for their governor-elect and his deputy, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto and Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir.
Speaking on the essence of the prayers, the State party leader, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, said it was aimed at seeking Allah's assistance for the success of the in-coming administration's both in the state and at the federal level.
Wamakko, while welcoming the Chief Imams of the various Jumu'at Mosques, Islamic scholars and many stakeholders across the State, who were in attendance, also appreciated them for their continued support and fervent prayers for the country and APC leadership.
The prayer session was coordinated by Mallam Bashir Gidan Kanawa and conducted by 13 Islamic scholars.
Prominent among them were the Chief Imam of Sultan Bello Jumu'at Mosque, Imam Malami Akwara, Sarkin Mallaman Sokoto, Mallam Yahaya Na Malam Boyi, Alkalin Mallaman Sokoto, Mallam Umar Ahmad Helele and Mallam Bello Kofa.
Other scholars included, Sheikh Abdul'aziz Kofar Rini, Sheikh Yahuza Shehu Tambuwal, Mallam Yusuf Labbo and Mallam Nafiu Malami Dan Haja, among others.
The prayer session was attended by the Governor -in - waiting, Alhaji Ahmad Aliyu Sokoto, his deputy, Alhaji Idris Mohammed Gobir, former Deputy Governor, Alhaji Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, two former Ambassadors, Abubakar Shehu Wurno and Sahabi Isah Gada.
Others were, APC bigwigs in the State, Alhaji. Umarun kwabo AA, Hon. Bala Hassan Abubakar, Member - elect, House of Representatives, Sokoto North and South Federal Constituency, politicians and business tycoons, among others.
