The Taraba state House of Assembly staff under the umbrella of Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) Taraba State Secretariat, House Of Assembly Complex Jalingo, and the ASSOCIATON OF NIGERIA (PASAN) SERVICE FOR DEMOCRACY have commenced an indefinite striking action over 7 years unpaid allowances.
In a letter dated 7th, November 2022, and signed by Comrade Ibrahim Bala Yusuf and Comrade Yahuda M. Atwen, Chairman and Secretary respectively, the striking workers explained that the decision followed a non-compliance to the seven days ultimatum issued to governor Darius Ishaku to clear their seven years outstanding allowances.
The association directed all staff of the assembly to remain at home until their rightful demands are complied with.
NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Correspondent reports that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) Taraba State University chapter, had, last week, threatened to also embark on indefinite strike over what they described as 'traffic quarter salary'. This is even as pensioner's mass protest over unpaid entitlements for ten years enter week three. NNL.
