Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested a notorious drug dealer at Nukai market, along Jalingo-Wukari road in the Taraba state capital, Jalingo, Micha Godwin, during which the anti-narcotic officers came under attack and at least seven of them were injured and one of their vehicles damaged.

The suspended former Deputy Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari and six of his alleged accomplices in a case of drug trafficking related offences, were, on Monday, arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) amidst tight security mounted at the court entry gate by a combined team of Operatives from the Department of State Services (DSS) and the NDLEA.

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have intercepted no fewer than 294,440 tablets of Tramadol, Diazepam, Swinol, Rohyphnol and Exol-5 along with other illicit drugs in major operations in Delta, Bauchi, and the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Ikeja, Lagos, while a total of 41 suspects were arrested in raids in Abuja and Kaduna state.

The Department of State Services (DSS) has described "unjustified, unfair, speculative and preposterous", the statement allegedly made by the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, against security agencies including the DSS, saying that if elected again into power in 2023, the PDP will not use the nation's Security agencies including the DSS to harass the Nigerian electorates.
