Barely forty-eight hours after the abduction of an APC Chieftain, the Niger state government has confirmed the kidnap of the Commissioner for Information, Alhaji Mohammed Sani Idris.

Details on how the commissioner entered the kidnapper's net is still very sketchy, but he is said to have been kidnaped by suspected armed bandits at about 1:am on Monday, August 9, 2021, from his home at Baban-Tunga village in Tafa Local Government Area of the state.

Sani Idris who is said to have visited his area for the weekend before the suspected armed bandits came calling, was last seen at the commissioning of some metropolitan roads rehabilitated and reconstructed by Governor Sani Bello-led administration.

Security agencies are already trailing the bandits with a view to apprehending them, Mary Noel-Berje, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Niger state confirms. NNL.
