In its efforts to combat crime and criminality the Nigerian Army, the 33 Artillery brigade Bauchi have arrested two suspected cannabis sativa dealers with 512 parcels and four bags at Rigin Gaini village along Bauchi - Jos highway.

The suspects were been mentioned as Adamu Ali (32yr-old) and Mohammed Idon (42yr-old) respectively.

The Commandant of the 33 Brigade, Brig. Gen. Emmanuel Egbe, disclosed this while handing over the suspects and the suspected items to officials of NDLEA in Bauchi

According to him, the suspects were arrested with the cannabis sativa substance in a branded energy drink pick-up with different makeshift compartments inside the vehicles with registration number AKD 654 XT Lagos.

Brig Gen Egbe represented by Acting Garrison Commander, Lt. Col. Abdulrahman Modibbo, mentioned the suspected peddlers as Adamu Ali (32yr) and Mohammed Idon (42yr).

He explained that the suspected peddlers were intercepted by operatives of the brigade on Monday 23, 2023 at 8: 00pm at Ringin Gaini village along Jos road in Toro Local Government area of Bauchi state.

He urged NDLEA officials to always furnish the brigade headquarters with the outcome of their investigation for records purposes.

Brig. Gen. Egbe warns criminals and their likes to desist from committing crime or face the full wrath of the law, as the army would not rest on it's oars to deal decisively with criminals.

Responding, Chief Superintendent of Narcotics of the Agency, Mr Nimfa Joel, commended the army for the wonderful efforts and the partnership in the fight against drug trafficking and abuse. He assured that the agency would commence its investigation into the matter and as well prosecute the suspect.

NIGERIAN NEWSLEADER Newspaper Correspondent reports that the items intercepted in the vehicles are four bags, 512 percels of suspected cannabis sativa and 104 packs of soft drinks used to cover the Indian hemp.

Other items recovered from the suspects are four phones, five ATM cards, drivers license, two padlocks and N13,550 cash. NNL.
