Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe state has called on Muslims to uphold the values of sacrifice, compassion and charity cultivated during Ramadan as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr.
The governor made the call after joining the Emir of Gombe, Abubakar Shehu Abubakar III, and other faithful for Eid prayers in Gombe.
Represented by his deputy, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, Yahaya stressed that sustaining these virtues would help address societal challenges and promote moral discipline.
He also extended sympathy to the government and people of Borno State over a recent bomb explosion, noting that Gombe stands in solidarity with communities affected by insecurity across the country.
Delivering a message after a mini Sallah durbar at the Emir’s Palace, the Emir of Gombe urged Muslims to internalize the teachings of Ramadan, emphasizing peace, tolerance and love as guiding principles for societal harmony. NNL.
