Dr. Sam Amadi, a former chairman of the Nigerian Electricity and Regulatory Commission (NERC), has tipped Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, Nigeria's former Senate President, as the best option for the Igbos of the southeast Nigeria, in the 2023 Presidential election.
Dr Amadi, currently a lecturer at Baze University, Abuja, however, warned that a combination of Nigerian political intrigues and what seemed like a lackluster attitude of the Igbos towards the Igbo Presidency project, might be the achillies heels of Senator Pius Anyim's 2023 aspiration.
Nevertheless, he expressed strong optimism that the tide might play in favor of Anyim, if he remains resolute, dogged, and carry along all tendencies in his party and all sections of Nigeria in his presidential bid.
Amadi who barred his mind on the on-going presidential quest of the South East in his Facebook page maintains that among all the Igbo potential Presidential materials, especially of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) stock, Senator Pius Anyim still remains the "best chance" for the South East Zone.

He argued that this is because Anyim "has the political stature and personality that the Nigerian political dynamics can accommodate. ...But in the present politics in Nigeria, he is South East best chance.
Dr. Amadi, therefore, advised that if the zone is serious about a Nigerian President of Igbo extraction, Senator Anyim should be the gold hope for 2023. "If we are serious about Igbo presidency, we need to embrace Anyim and forget some of these daydreaming about our fanciful candidates.
"Senator Anyim Pius Anyim is South-East best shot at the presidency...He has the political statutes and the personality that Nigerian political dynamics can accommodate. In another politics, he may not be Southeast best chance. But in the present politics in Nigeria he is Southeast best chance", Amadi stated. NNL.
