The world said goodbye to a true icon on August 25, 2026, when Dolly Rebecca Parton Dean passed away at the age of 80. The beloved singer, songwriter, and philanthropist died peacefully at the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center in Nashville, surrounded by loved ones, after "bravely facing a brief battle with cancer". Her death marked the end of a remarkable journey that took a girl from a one-room cabin in the Smoky Mountains to the pinnacle of global entertainment.
