The All Progressives Movement (APM) has commenced fresh mobilisation efforts ahead of the August 17, 2026 local government elections in Bauchi State, with the party leadership urging candidates and supporters to intensify their grassroots activities.

Governor Bala Mohammed held a strategic engagement with APM chairmanship candidates, their deputies, councillors and other stakeholders as part of efforts to reposition the party ahead of the forthcoming council elections.

The meeting, held nine days before the poll, provided an opportunity for party leaders and candidates to discuss ways of strengthening coordination and mobilising support across the local government areas.

APM State Chairman, Auwal Isah, urged candidates to publicise the party and engage more actively with voters in their respective communities.

He described the local government election as an important opportunity to strengthen the party’s grassroots structure ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The Speaker of the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Abubakar Y. Sulaiman, also called on party members to remain united and work together towards achieving victory.

Sulaiman, who is Chairman of the Supervisory and Monitoring Committee for the local government election, said candidates and supporters had significant responsibilities in mobilising their communities and building support for the party.

He urged stakeholders to maintain unity of purpose and collaborate effectively, stressing that a coordinated approach would be necessary for the party to achieve its objectives in the forthcoming elections. NNL.
