Barely days after the killing and abduction of mostly worshipers in a mosque, suspected armed bandits have killed a village Head of Galla in Niger state, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf.

The village head of Galla in Borgu Local Government Area (LGA), said to be an elder brother to the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Aliyu Sabi Abdullahi was shot in his palace days after he was said to have complained about the activities of armed bandits in the area.

The killing is coming barely forty-eight hours after no fewer than thirty people were slaughtered inside a mosque, several others abducted by the armed bandits.

Findings indicates that the village head had challenged the suspected armed bandits that have laid siege on Borgu Emirate to respect the sanctity of life and steer clear of his domain.

The warning which our correspondent learnt, the armed bandits viewed as an affront prompted their invasion of the village head's palace the following day and shot him dead.

Meanwhile, Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago has expresses sadness over the killing of the village head of Galla in the Borgu Emirate, Alhaji Ahmed Yusuf.

The Governor in a condolence message to the deceased family and entire Galla community, said the murder of the village head in his palace is demonstration of boldness and high level of insolence by the armed bandits.

The condolence message signed by the Governor's Cjuef Press Secretary (CPS), Bologi Ibrahim tasks security agencies to ensure that perpetrators of the heinous crime are not only apprehended but prosecuted.

Bago commiserate with the Minister, the immediate family of the deceased, the people of Galla and the entire Borgu Emirate over the demise of the village head and enjoined them to be comforted that the deceased lived a good life and died defending his subjects. NNL.
