Chairman of Niger Tornadoes Football Club of Minna, Dr. Abubakar Abdullahi Kuso, has convened one day strategic meeting for stakeholder's to check poor performances of the club in the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).
Speaking at the stakeholder's meeting which took place at the conference hall of Rasheedat Restaurant Minna, Kuso said there are peculiar issues with Niger Tornadoes football club which according to him can easily be resolved if stakeholders engage in roundtable discussions on the best way out.
The club's Chairman told stakeholders including; Niger State Football Association (NSFA), the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Nigeria Referees Association (NRA), Niger Tornadoes Supporters Club amongst others that the job of ensuring that the state's darling football club performs better should be of concerns to them.
Niger Tornadoes management, he said tried since assumption of office to make expected impacts, adding however that interracting with stakeholders is still necessary because the club belongs to every citizen of Niger state as the management cannot take credit for every good thing that has lifted the club’s fortunes to present status.
Kuso appreciated Governor Umaru Bago for giving him and the management team the confidence to pilot the affairs of the club, saying the opportunity to serve is a privilege and a responsibility he will not forget in a hurry.
The club chairman also appreciated former and serving coaches, members of the management team, supporters and as well Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) for contributing to the development of the club.
State Chairman of SWAN, Mohammed Alhassan Kutigi, commended Kuso for appreciating contributions of journalists in the making of improved Niger Tornadoes football club and as well ensuring that Tornadoes now play its home matches at the newly renovated Bako Kontagora stadium, Minna.
Kutigi pledging continued support of SWAN however expressed concerns that despite contributions, SWAN is not being giving desired recognition when compared with sacrifices to ensure that the club remains active serving its teeming andsupporters and fans.
Chairman of Nigeria Referees Association of Nigeria, Umar Mohammed advised the club's Chairman to resist the antics of bad advisers whose trade can cause crisis in Niger Tornadoes if not checked.
Also in his remarks, the Head Coach of Niger Tornadoes, Kabiru Dogo, expressed appreciation to the management for giving him the opportunity to serve the club and promised to put in more effort to enable the team attain global standards. NNL.
