The Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA), Anambra State Chapter, on Friday, 11th September, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, AIG Miller Gajere Dantawaye, psc.
The delegation was led by the Chairperson of POWA, Anambra State Chapter, Dr. Mrs. Eno Chongs Mantu, who was accompanied by other members of the association.
Speaking during the visit, the Chairperson explained the purpose of the delegation, noting that the visit was aimed at formally identifying with the leadership of Zone 13, fostering a cordial relationship with the Zone and exploring areas of collaboration that would further promote the welfare of police officers, their spouses and families.
Dr. Mrs. Mantu also highlighted some of the achievements and initiatives of the Anambra State Chapter of POWA, particularly in the areas of welfare, support to police families, empowerment and other activities aimed at improving the wellbeing of members of the Police Family.
In his response, AIG Miller Gajere Dantawaye, psc, appreciated the Chairperson and members of POWA for the courtesy visit and commended them for their efforts and contributions towards the welfare of police officers and their families.
The AIG acknowledged the important role played by police officers’ wives in supporting their husbands and sustaining the wellbeing of police families, noting that the responsibilities of policing extend beyond the officers themselves.
He encouraged the association to continue its positive initiatives and assured them of his support and cooperation within the limits of his office. He further emphasized the importance of unity, mutual support and collaboration among members of the Police Family.
AIG Dantawaye reiterated that the welfare and wellbeing of police personnel remain important to effective policing, as officers who enjoy the support of their families are better positioned to discharge their duties with commitment and professionalism.
The AIG also expressed his readiness to maintain an open and cordial relationship with POWA and to support initiatives that are geared towards improving the welfare, dignity and wellbeing of police personnel and their families within the Zone.
The visit, according to the Spokesman of the Police Zonal Command, ASP Chidera Oha, ended on a positive note, with both the leadership of Zone 13 and POWA Anambra State Chapter reaffirming their commitment to sustaining a cordial relationship and working together for the overall welfare of the Police Family.
