Concerned youth of Aboh Mbaise in Imo State, South East, Nigeria, on Monday, met with Dr Ugorji Okechukwu Ugorji, the state Commissioner for Homeland Security and Vigilante Affairs, to deliberate on way forward towards the effective security of Aboh Mbaise Community.
The meeting of youth group under the auspices of Youth Advocate Leaders of Aboh Mbaise LGA with the Commissioner, was with the view of strengthening the security program and working harmoniously on soft power security initiatives in the various wards in Aboh Mbaise LGA. According to the Commissioner, Dr Ugorji, "We used the opportunity to welcome the newly appointed four Ward Youth Advocate Leaders from Nguru Nwenkwo Ward, Nguru NweEke Ward, Ahiato Ward, and Uvuru Ward One".
The new Youth Advocates coordinators thanked the Commissioner in turns for finding them worthy to be part of such a seminal idea in security and safety of the Aboh Mbaise Community and Imo State in general.
They assured Dr. Ugorji and their fellow ward coordinators of their support, dedication, and commitment in working effectively to discharge their duties.
The 12 Ward Youth Advocate Leaders also used the opportunity to pass an "enthusiastic vote of confidence" on the Homeland Security Commissioner, who, according to the youths, has made tremendous sacrifices to return from America to serve his Imo state homeland.
"Mediocrity is always afraid of competence and excellence" Sabinus Njoku, one of the Youth Advocates Leader said to the Commissioner, "but stay focused and not distracted," Odinakachi Nwarukwe added.
Jude Awulonu assured the Commissioner: "You will always be remembered as the leader who brought compassion, transparency and accountability to Aboh Mbaise politics and public service." Dr, Ugorji however informed the Aboh Mbaise Youth Advocate Leaders of the need to expand the nascent program to the 305 wards in the 27 LGAs in Imo State. "The more we accomplish with soft power, the less hard power we would need in security formations around Imo State."
The Youth Advocate Ward Leaders that attended the meeting were: Hon. Awulonu Jude- Enyiogwugwu Ward; Hon Nwarukwe Odinakachi- Ibeku Ward; Comr. Ephraim C. Anokwuru- Lorji Ward; Hon. Ugochukwu Umunnakwe - Amuzu Ward and Comr. Odoemena Chibueze - Mbutu Ward.
Others are: Comr. Onyekachi Emereuwa - Umuhu Ward; Comr. Nwachukwu Chima - Lagwa Ward; Pastor John Paul Osinachi- Uvuru Ward 2; Comr. Amiri John Nwamuo - Uvuru Ward 1, nominated by Rt. Hon. Chief Godfrey Dikeocha (Odum Ukwu N'Egbu Agu); Comr. Sabinus Njoku - Nguru Nwenkwo Ward, nominated by Hon. Chief Mrs. Pat Ngozi Ekeji (Olaedo); Comr. Silas Chukwudi Odoemena - Ahiato Ward, nominated by Chief Christogonus U. Okoro ( Agbara) and Comr. Festus Nnaemeka - Ahiato Ward, nominated by Chief Okechukwu Azu (Alhaji).
However, the Commissioner, Dr Ugorji, announced Hon. Prince Alex Elugwaraonu as the Aboh Mbaise LGA Youth Advocates Coordinator. Elugwaraonu is from Uvuru Ward 1. NNL.
