Pharoh Okadigbo, the 45-year-old son of Nigeria's former Senate President, Senator (Dr) Chuba Okadigbo, will be buried in his hometown, Ogbunike, Anambra State, on Friday, May 28, 2021.
Pharoh died in a ghastly motor accident in the Jabi area of Abuja on Sunday morning this week, when his white color Toyota Corolla ran under a stationary truck on the highway.
The news of Pharoh's gruesome death in the auto crash came as a rude shock to most Nigerians who loved and admired his late father, Senator Chuba Okadigbo, one of the country's most colorful and cerebral politician since history.
There has been a flurry of condolence messages from across the country expressing sympathy and consolation of the Okadigbo family on this great loss.
Already, NIGERIAN NEWS-LEADER Newspaper Online, gathered from a close family source on Thursday night, that the body of the deceased Pharoh Okadigbo has been flown to Ogbunike, Anambra North, and that all arrangements have been perfected for the Friday (today's) burial which is expected to be graced by dignitaries, friends, family and political associates of his late father, Senator Chuba Okadigbo.
A statement on Thursday by Senator Chuba Okadigbo's eldest son and Pharoh's immediate elder brother, Mr Chaka Okadigbo, formally announced the demise of the younger Okadigbo, as demanded by the Igbo/Ogbunike tradition.
According to the family, though the burial is expected to be well attended, they still prefer a very quiet funeral event, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic ravages still ongoing.
The family statement reads: "It is With deep sorrow, the family of the late Dr. Chuba Okadigbo announces the death of Pharaoh Okadigbo, a husband, father, son, brother, and nephew.
