The hope of Niger Tornadoes Football club of Minna to subdue their visiting Warri Wolves of Delta state failed to yield expected results as the encounter ended in goalwss draw.
The two teams perfectly defended their goal posts throughout the ninety minutes first and second half encounter at the Bako Kontagora memorial stadium, Minna.
During the fiercely contested NPFL26 matchweek 28 encounter which witnessed slightly low turn out of supporters due to the Ramadan fast at the Bako Kontagora Stadium, Minna, both sides demonstrated soccer zeal, intent, composure, and organization, effectively defended their sides.
The opening 45 minutes saw both teams probing cautiously, but Warri Wolves showed superior structure and control of ball as the midfield unit dictated tempo for long spells, limiting the host, Niger Tornadoes’ attacking rhythm and restricting their encroachments.
Meanwhile, the Coach of Niger Tornadoes Football club, Mohammed Majin said though the encounter produced no goals, he is hopeful that the team will make up for the lost points.
Majin in his response during the post-match interaction with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Niger state chapter, assured fans of better days ahead.
Majin who did not completely rule out the possibility that fasting may have added to the poor outing said, "That is football for you, one point is still something. We look forward to our next match, we will continue to do our best to improve and get the goals we missed today". NNL.
