Notwithstanding goaless draw against Kano Pillars in the NPFL match 30 encounter which took place at the Bako Kontagora memorial stadium, Minna, Niger Tornadoes Technical Adviser, Majin Mohammed has said that the outcome of the match was not completely bad because the opponent did not score against his team.
Mohammed who however expressed disappointment following his team's goalless draw with visiting Kano Pillars also hinted that a point garnered during the 90 minute encounter is still not bad instead of completely losing with goals from the visitors.
Niger Tornadoes football team's Technical Adviser told Sports Writers shortly after the fiercely contested NPFL 30 encounter that both sides entered the fixture determined to claim maximum points as they continued their battle to move away from the relegation zone.
Majin Mohammed who spoke alongside Kano Pillars Technical Adviser said the match, being the second game in a three-match ultimatum for him and his players resisted with urgency from the opening whistle attempts by the visiting team to dominate the game and possibly score against his team.
Though the "Ikon Allah boys" made great inroads into the vital areas of their opponent, Mohammed expressed disappointment that his boys could not convert all the attempts into much needed goals due to several lost scoring chances.
While describing the outcome of the match 30 as very frustrating, the Niger Tornadoes Football club's Technical Adviser said, "We knew that this encounter with Kano Pillars was going to be a difficult game because we defeated them in the first leg”.
“We prepared well for today's match and wanted to win, but we were unlucky, hitting the crossbar on two occasions”, the Coach told Sports Journalists as he argued that the outcome is not totally bad.
He lamented that the team’s main challenge has been converting chances they create into goals, pointing out that, “Before this game we spent the week working on different scoring techniques in training, but unfortunately, after good ball control we still cannot find the back of the net”.
Moving forward from last Sunday's bitter experience, Mohammed told journalists that Niger Tornadoes will quickly focus their attention to another crucial home fixture against league leader's Rivers United FC as the fight to avoid relegation intensifies. NNL.
