The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate for the March 11 gubernatorial election in Abia State, Professor Gregory Ibe, has expressed his adequate preparedness to restore the glory of Abia State if elected governor in this Saturday election.

Prof Ibe who has demonstrated a track record in service, is a governorship candidate with a working document on how to enthrone GOOD GOVERNANCE in Abia State. This, he articulates in an agenda called: Roadmap to a NEW ABIA.

In a statement on Wednesday March 8, 2023 by Hon. John Nwokocha, spokesman of Professor Greg Ibe Campaign Organization (PGIC), the APGA guber flagbear urges all eligible voters in Abia State to vote for him on Saturday, March 11 2023, based on his track records of capacity and competence.

Nwokocha stated that Professor Greg Ibe is "best suited for the governorship of Abia State. None of the contestants can match his enviable records of service to the good people of the state". Professor Ibe however assures Abians of better days ahead and fast turnaround of their fortunes.

"The confidence Abians repose in him has put him ahead of other candidates. Prof Ibe, the astute industrialist single handily financed a medical outreach and COVID-19 Pandemic intervention programme worth trillions of Naira.

"Prof Ibe’s cognate experience in service-to-humanity would be leveraged to bring the elusive dividends of democracy to Ndi Abia. In this epochal time, Abia needs an intelligent and humble leader like Prof Gregory Ibe who has an unbeaten record of service to humanity", Nwokocha said.

He added that Prof Ibe and his "formidable team of experienced and committed professionals are set to restore the glory of Abia. The robust agenda speaks to a better life for Ndi Abia, standard Education, Modern Health services, Youth and Women empowerment, Enhanced Social Welfare, Infrastructural Development, Revenue Base Expansion and Enabling Environment for Investment. These would put Abia State on the Map of the world.

"The Distinguished Philanthropist, Gregory Ibe has an unbeaten record of injecting life in the sick and hopeless indigents through his Medical Outreach.

"Also, in the education sector, Ibe a multi-discipline educationist and Founder of the Gregory University, Uturu has a famous record of offering 750 full scholarships in all fields of learning to Abians and non-Abians at the Gregory University, Uturu.

"In his first 100 days in office if elected, Gregory will enthrone accountability and transparency in governance. He will put an end to Insecurity; Ensure Peace, Justice and Equity for all people in the state. He will equally put an end to non-payment of workers’ salary, gratuities, and pensions.

" Professor Greg Ibe will end Resident Doctors’ salary crisis. The Resident Doctors are being owed salary arrears of over 25 months. Pensioners are owed up to 56 months in arrears. He will implement Holistic and Comprehensive Pension Package for Pensioners. He will pay particular attention on ABA to make it World Class Industrial Hub and Expand the Economy of Abia state. Ibe will end embezzlement of loans; Resurrect the legacies of late Micheal I. Okpara and end impunity in government", Nwokocha, his Campaign spokesman stated.

Meanwhile, Abia citizens in the Diaspora have endorsed Prof Gregory Ibe to emerge as next governor of Abia state. His chances to emerge as governor of Abia also got a boost as Abia ADC council chairmen had adopted him because of his capacity and competence to deliver services and good governance.

While, while adopting the APGA Governorship candidate only a few days to the Saturday March 11 gubernatorial poll, the Abia Council Chairmen of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) announced that Professor Ibe remains their governorship candidate and subsequently announced the collapse of their LGA structures into the All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA).

Announcing the resolution on Tuesday during a press conference in Umuahia, the ADC LGA Chairmen, who spoke through four of their colleagues, declared that they arrived at the decision because of their conviction that Prof Ibe, being the most competent candidate in the race, "possess the requisite expertise and experience to drive speedy transformation of the state".

Speaking on behalf of the group, the ADC Chairman of Umuahia North LGA, Hon. Emma Emenike, stated that their resolution to support the ambition of Professor Ibe is "a patriotic action motivated by the desire to ensure the emergence of the best, most credible and eminently competent candidate, with proven track record of social intervention and tangible acts of Corporate Social Responsibility in critical sectors of Abia life".

However, pledging to work with his colleagues in mobilizing grassroots support for Prof Ibe, Hon. Emenike enjoined Abians to rally round APGA, emphasizing that the party remains the best platform to negotiate the integration of Ndigbo into the mainstream of national politics.

Hon Emenike was joined in the press briefing by other ADC LGA Chairmen, including, Pastor Collins Nwosu of Umuahia South, Mrs Amarachi Eze of Aba North and Comrade James Chukwuemeka of Ikwuano.

Meanwhile, the Professor Gregory Campaign Council and Pro-Gregory Support Group have vowed to tackle electoral fraud, malpractices and manipulation of result figures at the polling units for the March 11 elections. They said the campaign council would not tolerate election results manipulation.

The campaign council insists that Professor Ibe is best suited for governor of Abia, stating that he is most popular among other party candidates in the race. To this end, the campaign council has begun refresher training for APGA Polling Agents for the elections.

The polling Agents were urged to be vigilant at their units and ensure that they do not allow compromise of election result sheets. They were also briefed to report misconducts by electoral officers. NNL.
