Governorship candidate of the Action Alliance (AA) party in the Saturday November 6, 2021 gubernatorial election in Anambra state, Chief Ben Etiaba, has said that women and youths in Anambra state will definitely play a tremendous role in the formation of his government, policies and programmes, if he wins the forthcoming governorship election.

Gubernatorial frontliner in the Saturday November 6, 2021 governorship election in Anambra state, Chief Ben Etiaba (Ifennia Nnewi) has finally emerged the party flagbearer for the Action Alliance (AA).

Etiaba who resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday August 5, 2021 at his ward in Umudim, Nnewi, over some irreconcilable differences arising from the controversial party primary, on Saturday August 7, 2021, declared for the Action Alliance (AA) at a news conference held at the party Headquarters in Abuja.

The AA governorship contender said in a media statement shortly after his declaration that: "With every sense of humility and immense gratitude to Almighty God, I announce my new political home. It is Action Alliance!

“Over the last Four weeks, l sought the face of our Most High God for political direction. Following that spiritual process, l have found myself as the Governorship candidate of Action Alliance in Anambra 2021 governorship election.”

Also unveiling his running mate for the election during the press briefing, a renowned grassroots women mobilizer in Anambra state, Etiaba said:

”Permit me please, to have the pleasure of most humbly introducing my Deputy Governorship candidate, Mrs Regina Uchebo.

”Mrs Uchebo is a grassroots politician of many years standing, a great mobilizer of our women in politics, an astute businesswoman, and a graduate of Business Administration from the Rivers State University of Science and Technology.”

Etiaba restated than he defected from the APC due to the controversial primary that gave victory to one of his co-contenders, Senator Andy Uba.

“While I say goodbye to All Progressives Congress without bitterness and wish the Party well having resigned my membership of APC at my Umudim Nnewi Ward 1 before my registration in my new party, Action Alliance, at my Ward on Thursday 29th July 2021, l do look forward to ushering in a new political era for myself and prayerfully for Anambra State.” NNL.

The Acting Caretaker National Chairman of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC), Governor Maimala Buni and the former Senate President, Senator Ken Nnamani along with the governors of Jigawa and Kebbi states, Mohammed Abubakar Badaru and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, on Wednesday in Abuja, went into a crucial meeting ostensibly to resolve the current impasse in the APC.
