Galambi had earlier contested for the Jigawa North Central in 2019 but lost to Senator Sabo Muhammad Nakudu of Birnin kudu of the same ruling party, APC.

The media office of the National Chairman of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has debunked a report in Thisday newspaper on Sunday which published in its political notes column with the above headline, insinuating that there was a disagreement within the party between its chairman, Prince Uche Secondus and the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.
