The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, on Monday, March 22, 2021, arraigned one Nanpan Salihu Yaniyang before Justice O.O. Abike-Fadipe of the Lagos State High Court sitting in Ikeja, Lagos on a four-count charge bordering on stealing and obtaining by false pretence to the tune of N17,449,000 ( Seventeen Million Four Hundred and Forty-nine Thousand Naira) and $6,300( Six Thousand Three Hundred United States Dollars).

Collins Samuel, an alleged fraudster who obtained $8000USD as Covid-19 benefit from the US state of Virginia, has been convicted and sentenced to two years imprisonment by Justice P. Mallong of the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna, Kaduna State. Another fraudster, Okoh Kingsley Chukwuemeka also bagged two years in prison for fraud.

Detained former Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), Professor Dibu Ojerinde, who is being held on remand warrant, is still undergoing investigation by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), and maybe charged to court soon by the anti-graft Commission upon conclusion of the probe.

Two weeks after he addressed the staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, at the headquarters and Zonal Office in Abuja, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, Executive Chairman of the agency, at the weekend, visited the Kaduna Zonal Office of the Commission, where he admonished the personnel to demonstrate a greater sense of commitment and dedication in the discharge of their duties.
